I’ve decided to do a two week weight loss programme. I weigh sixty eight kilograms at the moment and am one hundred and seventy centimetres tall. My waist is eighty centimetres right now. I only need to lose three kilograms and three centimetres off my waist so two weeks will be fine. One and a half kilograms a week is a fairly safe amount of weight to lose. Over the next two weeks on this blog I will take you on a day by day journey of my diet, plus recipes, exercises achieved and feelings and thoughts. Hopefully this will inspire my patients and give others ideas.
A very important point is that I don’t have underlying conditions that could impede my weight loss. See your naturopath before embarking on a weight loss programme to get everything, including that ever important thyroid function checked out. I appreciate my body everyday and am grateful to be healthy, I’m doing this to feel good, for my health, and to be honest, a little bit for aesthetic value. Good healthy nutrition and exercise is essential for looking, feeling and being healthy.
I am basing my weight loss programme on the ‘shake-it’ programme by Metagenics (www.shake-it.com.au) as I’ve done it before (after coming back from Japan - too much rice!! ;)) and I find it really beneficial. I lost six kilograms when I did it three and a half years ago. At the end of the first week I will get my bioimpedence test done to check muscle and fat mass and make sure I’m maintaining muscle and losing fat. Very very important. So here I go…
